About the Course
Welcome to the world of Latin American Spanish! This class will be a two-year rotation cycle. We will cover high school level Spanish 1 in two years instead of just one. This will allow the middle schoolers to receive the high school credit that they need without taking the course at a 9th/10th grade level or waiting 2 years to take the course in high school. Students who complete this course will need to then take Middle School Spanish B the following year to gain the full diploma credit. Students would then continue on with Spanish 2, etc. There is no prerequisite for this class.
The Bob Jones University Press Spanish courses focus on the three basic fundamentals of language: grammar, vocabulary, and verbs. These three tools help the learner to understand the construction and usage of the language. Students will be able to speak, comprehend, write, and read select texts in Spanish.
Home assignments include, but are not limited to: textbook excerises, activities manual excercises, outside reading materials and listening activities, projects, and sentence translations. Students are expected to complete all assignments on time and to participate in class activities. In general, quizzes are completed at home, and tests will be completed in class.

Buenos dias! I have been teaching Spanish for 5 years now: 3 at a private school and 2 at Cornerstone. Teaching Spanish and sharing with students my heritage is my passion. I offer several levels of Spanish: Elementary, Middle School, and High School Spanish 1, 2, and 3. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, my gardens, painting, sewing, reading, and learning more!
