About the Course
Algebra 2 (day 1)

For Algebra 2 we will use the Prentice Hall Classics Algebra 2 with Trigonometry (Classics Edition), ISBN#0-13-133798-X. Tests and quizzes workbook is not needed.  This class meets 2 days a week. We will do many examples of concepts together in class. Student's homework will include text assignments, quizzes, and tests. Parents are expected to oversee that students are developing good study habits in completing assignments, checking homework, preparing questions for class, studying for tests, etc. Tests will be taken at home and should be taken in an atmoshere that encourages focused attention and preserves the integrity of the test. Students will be expected to keep up with the flow of assignments, to particpate respectfully in class and, at times, to show procedures on the board.

We will meet twice a week, Tuesday at 10:30 and Thursday at 10:00.

Prerequisites: Student should have a B test average in an Algebra 1 class. This class is not for the struggling math student. A parent meeting is required with Mrs. Stumler before a student is officially registered in the course.

Assignment due day 1: Our first assignment begins with lesson 1.8, Properties of Exponents. So students will be expected to have a good working knowledge of lessons 1.1 through 1.7, especially 1.7 since it leads into 1.8, before the first day of class.
