About the Course
Ballet Basics is an introduction to the principles of this classic art form. In this course, we will learn core warm-ups, ballet techniques and movements. Along with extended time set aside to the physical elements of ballet, students will also have the chance to learn about the history of ballet, how it is being used by Christians, and even a little french! Learning ballet teaches balance, grace, and strength. It also helps with developing mental skills, such as discipline, memorization, and teamwork. In my years of studying ballet, I have experienced firsthand it’s impact on my life and am excited for the chance to pass this along to others!
Christina is excited for the opportunity to continue teaching at Cornerstone Classical School! She will be attending Boyce college in the fall and has been teaching Worship Dance at Cornerstone for three years. She has been a student for eight years at Weber School of Dance in Jeffersonville where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and lyrical dance. At Weber, she also served as an assistant instructor. Along with this, Christina has partnered with Elevate Dance Ministry as an assistant instructor for a dance outreach at Hope Place in Louisville, Kentucky. She has enjoyed being a part of the Christmas program at Southeast Christian Church for two years as a dancer, singer, and actress. In her free time, Christina enjoys wandering the outdoors (as long as there are no snakes:), doodling characters, crafting stories, playing piano, writing songs, and choreographing dances.
Christina is looking forward to showing others how to glorify God and share his love through the arts!
