About the Course
Beginning Sewing-
This class will cover sewing tools, fabrics, hand sewing, sewing machine parts & functions, reading & using basic patterns and mending/hemming.
Students will be making at least 7 projects. They will be given an opportunity to donate projects to local organizations such as New Albany/Floyd County Animal Shelter and Choice Life Resource Center.
Required supplies - sewing scissors. All other fabric and supplies will be provided. We will be using a sewing machine throughout the semester. If you have a machine, it would be preferable that you bring it. If you do not own one, a sewing machine can be provided for use while in class.
This class will help fulfill requirements for the American Heritage Girls Sewing badge at the Tenderheart & Explorer levels.
